Who cares about the church

Ivan's blog is very good. I enjoy his openness. In his entry from Dec. 28 ´05, he talks about his relationship to the church. After reading I just thought "who cares about the church". We are lost in the way the church does it or should do it. Or better what we think the church should be, when we are there!! There, what is "There" some building - who cares!! We think people should act in a certain way when they are There. Let's drop the church and meet down at Café Borgen and talk about what life is all about and how we should live it.

But I still go to church. Why? My friends. For some of them it's the only time I get to see them! Relationships that's what it's all about.

well let me try and provoke...so, you say you go to church to see friends and that it´s all about relationship, why don´t you just invite them out or home to your own house? is that not a way of meeting people more face to face....often i think we wear a mask to church, that´s what i did most the times...

ya it's true and I do meet with friend other ways too. But I guess it was an understatement to say I only go to church to meet with friends. I enjoy the worship time, the songs & music. Relationship with God is just as important to me, even know it's not in the church build that relationship.

To me the church provided a chance to catch up with alot of ppl in one fell swoop! Everyone was there and you could all just join in.. (has it's pro's and cons, I guess..)

Mark, only the worship/music? ;) (Dang, I miss playing worship..)

Good post, this one - I agree: relationships is what it's all about. Both in homes, and in the meetings of the Body of Christ.

God bless!
