iBAM?
I have talking to the leader of Business As Mission Resource Team about doing a Introduction to Business as Mission Course here in Europe. You can read more about the course at their website or their flyer.
The big question for me is this:
1. Is there a need for this type of course?
2. Will people attend?
To answer the first question myself, then yes I really think there is a need. I think we need or I need to understand better how to apply Biblical principles in our daily life. We hear a lot in church about family and relationships*, but very little about work and how the Bible applies there. This is where I think iBAM course could really make a diiferents. I know it wouldn't answer all the questions, but it will get us thinking.
Now the other big question is will people attend? I don't know. What do you think? Read the info and tell me what you think.

Microfinance
I've just started to make micro-loans. The website that I use helps me help them that have none. I can loan a little amount to help a person to start or build up a business.
For only $25 I can help people in need. When I get the money back and I can either lean it out again or have it transferred back to my own account. At first I was not sure if it worked, but now I have received some of the money back. And the system makes it easy to lean it out again, so that's what I done to a woman in Nepal.
There are many different websites that can help you do this, so do a search and find a way to help with micro-loans. You can start by reading Wikipedia microfinance

Wedding bells

| Mike & Maria's wedding |
My youngest son Mike got married July 12th 2008.
It was a very special day for me. It was the first time one of my kids got married, so that in it self is special. But to sit there so close watching two people committing themselves to each other for life, is very special. Remembering that day some 29 years ago - I was only 20 years old. It rained that day too, but we were inside ;-) There are many things I would do different over the many years of marriage. The biggest difference would be how I used my time. Much too much time was at work while my kids were small. Why do so many men do that?
So Mike my advise to you: Put first your wife and to come your children before your work. Then in 29 years you will not regret you did not use more time with them!
Mike thank you for letting me be next to you as you made one of your biggest commitment in your life.
